The snowpackSnow deposited on the ground in a multiplicity of layers.EAWS glossary will be subject to considerable local variations. In particular on steep sunny slopes at low and intermediate altitudes hardly any snow is lying. The weather conditions will give rise to moistening of the snowpack.
